The Westerville South Chess Club is an all inclusive club that welcomes members of all skill levels. We will teach those who have never played the game and foster the competitive spirit among players who take their game a bit more seriously. Come join the fun and maybe you will soon find yourself saying Checkmate
About Checkmate WSHS
Checkmate WSHS was founded in 2021 when Mr. Madama fielded interest from several students who love the game. Since then, the club has expanded to represent students at each of our four grade levels. We meet each Friday in the Green Common Space and play from 2:15-3:30.
In the News!!! Funds have been made available and our club will be receiving 8 new magnetic chess sets and on December 5th, players from WSHS will be squaring off with members of the WNHS Chess Club for some friendly competition. We will meet at the Westerville Libray and play from 2:30-4pm.
